The Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea (IMELS) granted a co-financing project on “Supporting the Western Balkan Region in implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements through Strengthening of Institutional Framework and Capacity Building”. Within the scope of the project, a specific component aims at supporting the revision process of selected environmental components of the State of the Environment Report (SoER) for BiH. The main objective of this project is to revise the selected environmental components of the State of the Environment Report for BiH, in order to assist the country in its EU accession process and alignment with the Environment Community acquis. UN Environment is facilitating the involvement of key ministries and other institutions to reflect the present environmental needs and provide feedback on all aspects of the SoER reporting process. Enova d.o.o. Sarajevo has been selected as a key partner for implementation of the SoER revision process.
The main project activities include:
- Elaboration of the draft skeleton of the report and assignment of relevant chapters based on screening of materials
- Kick off meeting and stakeholder consultation
- Development of the first chapter drafts:
- Analysis of the current state and trends covering the targeted thematic areas (Land and soil resources, Surface and ground waters resources, Air pollution and ozone depletion, and Waste management) using the Driving Forces Pressures State Impacts Response (DPSIR) methodology, and highlight of new and emerging issues;
- Engagement with scientists and experts in the assessment process, ensuring close cooperation and continuous consultation with government representatives, scientific experts and other relevant stakeholders;
- Preparation of draft chapter materials for further review and consultation.
- Development of the final draft version of report including layout and graphics
- Review and final proof reading of report
- Preparation of the final version of SoER revision ready for printing and dissemination
- Printing and shipping of the final SOER revision
